Profile Creation – Microsoft
Microsoft profile can be used to create a profile specific to
- RD Web based session
- IP or Hostname based session
Choose Microsoft to add a Microsoft specific profile from the protocol dropdown box.
To add a Local Connection profile – Microsoft RDS Session
Microsoft profiles can be used to create a profile specific to RD Web Access based connectivity or a VM based connectivity.
- Click the add icon to add the profile.
Add profile – RD Web Access
- Enter the required fields:
Profile Name – User specific, unique identifier
Domain – Auto populated (optional for Non-AD user login)
Connection Quality – Drop-down list of options to choose the session properties.
Below is the list of options for Microsoft RDP based session:-
- Auto detection
- LAN (10Mbps or more)
- WAN (10Mbps or more with high latency)
- Broadband High (2Mbps – 10 Mbps)
- Broadband Low (Upto 2Mbps)
- Legacy RDP – Recommended for RDP7 and earlier versions
RD Web Access – Auto Populated, if configured
- On enable RD Web Access, if RD Web URL is not auto populated enter the details manually
- Click Save Changes to save the profile.
To add a Local Connection profile – Microsoft Hostname/IP based session
- Click the add icon to add the profile.
Add profile – Microsoft Protocol
- Enter the required fields:
Profile Name – User specific, unique identifier
IP or Hostname – IP or hostname of the remote machine
Port – Port number of the remote machine if any (Default value: 3389)
Domain – Auto populated (optional)
Username – Username to connect to the remote machine (Optional)
Connection Quality – Drop-down list of options to choose the session properties.
Auto reconnection – Optional
- Click Save Changes to save the profile.
- Auto Reconnection is applicable for IP or Hostname based remote sessions
- If Auto Reconnection is chosen, it automatically reconnects the remote session when the remote session is disconnected due to network
There are few exceptions for Auto reconnection as listed below:
- User-initiated operations such as:
- Disconnect
- Log off
- Switch user
- Shutdown
- Restart
- When another user established a remote connection to the same session (VM/Physical) connected from this thin client device.
- When the user privilege is insufficient.
- When a connection fails due to licensing
To add a Local Connection profile – Microsoft RDS Gateway
- Click the add icon to add the profile.
Add profile – Microsoft RDS Gateway
- Enter the required fields:
Profile Name – User specific, unique identifier
Domain – Auto populated (optional for Non-AD user login)
Connection Quality – Drop-down list of options to choose the session properties.
RD Web Access – Auto Populated, if configured.
RD Gateway – RDS Gateway server address.
- Enter the valid Server address and Port in the URL.
- Click on Save Changes to save the profile.
To add a Local Connection profile – Microsoft RDP Gateway
- Click the add icon to add the profile.
- Enter the required fields:
Profile Name – User specific, unique identifier
IP or Hostname – IP or hostname of the remote machine
Port – Port number of the remote machine if any (Default value: 3389)
Domain – Auto populated (optional)
Username – Username to connect to the remote machine (Optional)
Connection Quality – Drop-down list of options to choose the session properties.
Auto reconnection – Optional
Gateway hostname – Gateway server name
Add profile – Microsoft RDP Gateway
- Enter require details
- Click Save changes to save the profile.
