Summary

Add and manage local printers, and redirect print jobs into VDI sessions (RDP, Citrix, VMware).

Prerequisites

• zTC with SnapOS ≥1.3
• Printer connected via USB or network (IPP/JetDirect)

Procedure

1. Add Local USB Printer
   • Start → Preferences → Printers → Add → choose USB → Next → select driver → Apply
2. Add Network Printer
   • Start → Preferences → Printers → Add → Network Printer → enter IP/hostname → Next → select driver → Apply
3. Enable Session Redirection
   • In session profile Advanced tab (RDP/Citrix/VMware) → enable “Redirect local printers” → Save & Connect

Advanced Configuration

• Map specific printer models via zMAN Printer Policy → deploy to groups.
• Use CUPS web interface (http://localhost:631) for custom PPD upload.

Troubleshooting

• Printer not listed: verify CUPS service is running and USB/network connectivity.
• No redirection: confirm “Redirect local printers” is checked and the driver matches session server.
