SSH & VNC Sessions on zTC

SSH & VNC Sessions on zTC

Summary

Access remote systems over SSH or VNC directly from your zTC desktop for command-line and GUI-based management.

Prerequisites

  • zTC with SnapOS ≥1.3
  • Remote host IP, port, and credentials
  • SSH server enabled on remote system; VNC server running on target host

Procedure

  1. SSH Client
    • Start → Applications → Microsoft Remote Desktop → select “SSH” → enter server IP → press Return → enter username/password → Ok :contentReference[oaicite:1]{index=1}.
  2. VNC Client
    • Start → Applications → Microsoft Remote Desktop → select “VNC” → enter VNC server IP and port → Ok → enter VNC password → connect :contentReference[oaicite:2]{index=2}.
  3. VNC Server
    • On any networked workstation, open your preferred VNC client (e.g., TightVNC) → point to zTC’s IP on port 5900 → authenticate using “guest.”

Troubleshooting

  • SSH hangs: ensure port 22 is open in zTC’s firewall and remote host’s SSH daemon is running.
  • VNC black screen: confirm zTC’s VNC server is enabled and no zMAN policy is blocking it.
