Servers

Overview

Servers in zMan Director are used to manage repository server resources available to zMan for file and firmware distribution.

Repository servers support storage and access to files that may be used by other zMan workflows, including firmware updates, certificates, OpenVPN files, RDP files, and other deployment-related assets.

Repository Server Purpose

Repository servers provide a storage location for files used by zMan Director.

These files may support workflows such as:

  • Firmware updates
  • Certificate deployment
  • File deployment
  • OpenVPN file deployment
  • RDP file access workflows

Repository Management

Repository server management allows administrators to review and manage storage resources that zMan uses for file distribution.

Depending on deployment configuration, repository server functionality may work with internal repository services such as MinIO.

Internal Repository Use

zMan Director uses MinIO as an internal file repository.

MinIO can store files used by zMan workflows, including firmware images, manifests, certificates, OpenVPN files, and RDP files.

Operational Considerations

Before using repository-based workflows, administrators should confirm that:

  • The repository server is available
  • Required files have been uploaded
  • File types match supported workflow requirements
  • zMan Director can access the repository location
  • Target devices are able to receive the related deployment tasks through zDM

Notes

  • Repository server behavior may vary depending on deployment configuration.
  • Repository files must be uploaded before they can be used in related deployment workflows.
  • MinIO credentials are configured during zMan Director deployment.
  • Repository server availability may affect firmware update, file deployment, and certificate deployment workflows.
