Overview

Files in zMan Director allows administrators to upload and manage supported file types used by device management workflows.

Uploaded files can be used for certificate deployment, OpenVPN file deployment, and RDP file access profile workflows.


Supported File Types

The Files section supports uploading and managing the following file types:

  • Certificate files
  • OpenVPN files
  • RDP files

Each file type supports specific formats and is used by different zMan workflows.


Certificate Files

Certificate files can be uploaded to support secure communication between client devices and servers.

Supported certificate formats include:

  • .cer
  • .pem
  • .der
  • .crt
  • .p12

Once uploaded, certificate files can be used for Certificate Deployment.

OpenVPN Files

OpenVPN files are configuration files used by OpenVPN clients to connect to a VPN server.

These files may contain VPN connection settings, certificates, and other information required to establish a secure encrypted connection between the client and VPN server.

Supported OpenVPN file format:

  • .ovpn

Once uploaded, OpenVPN files can be used for File Deployment.

RDP Files

RDP files are configuration files used by Remote Desktop Protocol to establish remote connections to another computer.

These files may store settings such as the remote computer address, user credentials, and display preferences.

Supported RDP file format:

  • .rdp

Once uploaded, RDP files can be used for RDP file access profile workflows.

File Upload Workflow

The typical file upload workflow is:

  1. Open Repository Management > Files.
  2. Select the file type.
  3. Enter the required name and description.
  4. Select the file to upload.
  5. Save the file.

After upload, the file becomes available for the related deployment or profile workflow.


Notes

  • Files must be uploaded before they can be used in related deployment workflows.
  • Certificate files are used with Certificate Deployment.
  • OpenVPN files are used with File Deployment.
  • RDP files are used with RDP file access profile workflows.
  • Supported file extensions vary by file type.
