Applications

Overview

Applications in zMan Director allows administrators to create and manage application configurations for managed zTC devices.

Application configurations can be enabled or disabled and applied to individual devices or groups of devices.

Applications

Application Configuration

When a thin client registers with zMan Director, supported application information can be reported to zMan.

Administrators can use the Applications page to manage application availability for managed zTC devices.

Application Controls

Application configurations may allow administrators to:

  • Enable applications
  • Disable applications
  • Add application groups
  • Edit application configurations
  • Delete application configurations
  • Apply application settings to individual devices or groups

Applying Applications

Once an application configuration is created, it can be applied to:

  • Individual zTC devices
  • Groups of zTC devices

This allows administrators to standardize application availability across different users, departments, or deployment groups.

Common Use Cases

Applications management may be used to:

  • Enable only required applications for a device group
  • Disable unused or restricted applications
  • Create application groups for specific departments
  • Standardize application access across multiple zTC devices

Notes

  • Application availability depends on the supported applications reported by the thin client.
  • Application configurations can be applied to individual devices or groups.
  • Available application actions may vary depending on user permissions and deployment configuration.
