Using SnapOS Update on zTC
Summary
Guide to check for, download, and install firmware and software updates on SnapOS devices—manually or via zMAN.
Prerequisites
- zTC with SnapOS ≥1.3
- Internet access or local update server URL
- Administrator privileges
Procedure
- Manual Update
- Start → Applications → SnapOS Update
- Click “Check for Updates” → select available updates → Install → Reboot if prompted
- Update from USB
- Copy update bundle (*.spk) to USB → insert → SnapOS Update → “Install from USB” → select bundle → Install
- Schedule via zMAN
- In zMAN Console → Groups → SnapOS Update policy → set time window → Deploy
Advanced Configuration
- Staged Rollout: target a pilot group first → verify stability → expand to all devices.
- Delta Updates: enable differential updates to reduce bandwidth usage.
