Using SnapOS Update on zTC

Summary

Guide to check for, download, and install firmware and software updates on SnapOS devices—manually or via zMAN.

Prerequisites

  • zTC with SnapOS ≥1.3
  • Internet access or local update server URL
  • Administrator privileges

Procedure

  1. Manual Update
    • Start → Applications → SnapOS Update
    • Click “Check for Updates” → select available updates → Install → Reboot if prompted
  2. Update from USB
    • Copy update bundle (*.spk) to USB → insert → SnapOS Update → “Install from USB” → select bundle → Install
  3. Schedule via zMAN
    • In zMAN Console → Groups → SnapOS Update policy → set time window → Deploy

  • Staged Rollout: target a pilot group first → verify stability → expand to all devices.
