Profiles
Overview
Profiles in zMan Director allow administrators to create and manage connection profiles for managed zTC devices.
A profile contains the connection information required for a zTC device to connect to a remote desktop machine, connection broker, server, or web-based resource. Profiles can be applied to individual devices or groups of devices.

Supported Profile Types
zMan Director supports profile creation for several connection types, including:
- Microsoft
- Citrix
- VMware
- Chromium / browser-based access
Supported profile options may vary depending on the selected protocol and deployment configuration.
Microsoft Profile Options
Microsoft profile configuration may include options such as:
- Host or IP
- Port
- Username
- Domain
- Password
- RD Web Access
- RD File Access
- RD Gateway
- Loop credentials
- Load balance information
These options allow administrators to define the connection behavior used by the zTC device.
Citrix and VMware Profiles
Profiles can also be created for Citrix and VMware environments.
Depending on the selected profile type, available configuration fields may include connection broker details, server information, gateway options, and authentication settings.
Browser-Based Profiles
Browser-based profiles can be used to direct users to specific web resources.
If a profile is configured for automatic login or automatic launch behavior, the browser may open the configured resource without additional user action.
Applying Profiles
Profiles can be applied to:
- Individual zTC devices
- Groups of zTC devices
On reboot, a zTC device can fetch the latest profile configuration that applies to that device.
Profile Management
Administrators may be able to:
- Add profiles
- Edit profiles
- Delete profiles
- Clone profiles
- Apply profiles to devices or groups
The clone option can be useful when creating multiple similar profiles with small configuration differences.
Notes
- Available profile fields depend on the selected profile type.
- Auto-login options are documented for Microsoft and VMware profile workflows.
- Profiles should be tested before being applied broadly across production devices.
- Profile availability may vary depending on device firmware and deployment configuration.
