USB Configuration on zTC
Summary
Allow or block USB devices by class or VID:PID to secure endpoint peripherals.
Prerequisites
- zTC with SnapOS ≥1.3
- Administrator privileges
Procedure
- Open USB Configuration
- Start → Preferences → Settings → USB Configuration
- Allow/Block by Class
- Select class (Mass Storage, HID, Audio) → choose Allow or Block → Apply
- Allow/Block by VID:PID
- Under “Manual Rules,” click Add → enter
VID:PID
(e.g. 046d:0825) → select Allow or Block → Save
- Under “Manual Rules,” click Add → enter
Advanced Configuration
- Deploy rules via zMAN to enforce USB policies across device groups.
Troubleshooting
- Devices still allowed: verify no conflicting “Allow All” rule is higher in order.
- Important device blocked: add explicit Allow VID:PID rule above class Block entries.
