Date/Time

Overview

Date and Time settings in zMan Director allow administrators to configure time-related behavior for managed zTC devices.

Date and Time settings can be created as part of a reusable device settings configuration and applied to individual zTC devices or groups of devices.

Date and Time Configuration

Date and Time settings may include configuration options for:

  • Time zone
  • NTP synchronization

These settings help ensure that managed zTC devices use the correct time configuration for authentication, logging, certificates, and system operations.

Time Zone

Time zone configuration allows administrators to define the correct regional time setting for managed devices.

This is useful for deployments across multiple locations or time zones.

NTP Synchronization

NTP synchronization allows managed devices to maintain accurate time by syncing with a configured time source.

Accurate time synchronization is important for:

  • Event logs
  • Certificate validation
  • Authentication workflows
  • Scheduled operations
  • Troubleshooting

Applying Date and Time Settings

Date and Time settings may be applied to:

  • Individual zTC devices
  • Groups of zTC devices

This allows administrators to standardize time configuration across managed endpoints.

Notes

  • Date and Time setting availability may vary depending on device firmware and deployment configuration.
  • Incorrect time settings may affect authentication, certificate validation, or event log accuracy.
  • NTP synchronization should be configured carefully in environments that depend on accurate system time.
  • Some time-related information may update dynamically while the device is online and communicating through zDM.
