User Management

Overview

User Management in zMan Director provides administrators with the ability to manage authentication and user access within the zMan environment.

zMan integrates with zID for identity and authentication services and supports both local authentication and external identity integrations such as LDAP and Active Directory (AD).

Authentication Methods

zMan Director supports multiple authentication methods through zID integration.

Supported authentication methods include:

  • Local user authentication
  • LDAP authentication
  • Active Directory (AD) authentication
  • Tenant-based login

zID acts as the Identity Provider service for zMan Director.

Tenant-Based Access

zMan Director supports tenant-based authentication and access control.

This allows administrators to isolate users, devices, and policies across multiple environments or customer deployments.

Role-Based Access

User permissions and access levels may vary depending on assigned roles.

Administrative users can manage:

  • Device provisioning
  • Device settings
  • Firmware deployment
  • Repository management
  • Analytics operations
  • zDM management

Active Directory Integration

zID can be configured to synchronize with Active Directory environments.

This allows centralized user authentication and identity management using existing enterprise directory infrastructure.

For additional zID information, refer to the zID documentation referenced within the zMan Setup and Configuration Guide.

Notes

  • Authentication requests are validated through zID.
  • User access may vary depending on assigned permissions.
  • LDAP and Active Directory configuration depend on environment-specific deployment requirements.
  • Some authentication methods may require additional zID configuration.
