LAN Server Monitoring

Overview

The LAN Server Monitor tracks LAN connectivity using ICMP protocol, enabling or disabling tunnels based on connectivity status. This feature supports automatic failover from a Data Center (DC) to a Disaster Recovery (DR) location if the primary connection is interrupted.

Functionality

The monitor tracks specified LAN IPs to assess liveliness. Since network congestion and response times may affect connectivity, fine-tuning is essential to ensure reliable failover. The monitor includes parameters to minimize false failover triggers:

  • Probes Before Marking Down: Number of failed probes before marking as down.
  • Probes Before Marking Up: Number of successful probes before marking as up.
  • Pause Before New Cycle: Time before rechecking status.
  • Reply Timeout: Time to wait for a response from the monitored IP.

The default failover detection method is ICMP, with plans to support application-specific custom monitoring in the future.

Configuration Parameters

Configuration settings are available to adjust these parameters to fit network conditions.
