Quick Overview

The Repository feature in zGuardian enables scheduled updates for threat databases, antivirus definitions, and security signatures. Updates can be pulled from external repository sources such as FTP or MinIO servers using secure credentials and scheduled at configurable intervals.

How to Use This Feature in the UI

  1. Navigate to System > Repository in the zGuardian interface.
  2. Select the repository type:
    • FTP Server: Enter the server IP, port (if applicable), and valid login credentials.
    • MinIO Server: Enter the server IP, port, Access Key ID, and Secret Access Key.
  3. Choose the update frequency:
    • Daily
    • Weekly
    • Monthly
  4. Click Apply to save the configuration and initiate the update scheduler.

Concepts & Use Cases

  • Delta updates reduce bandwidth usage by downloading only changes since the last update.
  • Scheduled updates ensure zGuardian stays current with the latest security intelligence.
  • Using MinIO allows secure object-based repository storage in environments with S3-compatible systems.

Troubleshooting & FAQs

  • Q: Why are updates not being pulled from the repository?
A: Check credentials, port availability, and repository URL/IP accuracy.
  • Q: Can I trigger an update manually?
A: Yes. Use the “Manual Update” button in the Repository settings section.
  • Q: What’s the difference between full and delta updates?
A: Delta updates only download incremental changes, whereas full updates replace the entire data set.
