Power Operations & De-registration
Summary
Control device power states remotely and remove devices from management when decommissioning or reassigning hardware :contentReference[oaicite:8]{index=8}.
Available Power Actions
- Shutdown – remote power off; requires physical power-on to bring back online
- Reboot – remote restart while preserving configuration
- Suspend – enter low-power state; Wake-on-LAN or USB must be enabled via device settings
- Factory Reset – wipes local configuration; device will re-register and appear under “Pending Registration”
Performing Actions
- Select one or multiple devices from the **zTC Clients** list.
- Click **Actions → Power Operations** → choose the desired action.
- Confirm in the dialog; monitor task status under **Tasks**.
De-registration
- From **zTC Clients**, select device(s) to remove.
- Click **Actions → De-register**; confirm removal.
- De-registered devices move back to **Unassigned** after they next check in (if still online) :contentReference[oaicite:9]{index=9}.
Troubleshooting
- If a power action fails, ensure the device is online and reachable via zDM.
- If a factory reset doesn’t complete, use the recovery USB to manually reset firmware.
