Tasks Management
Summary
Every profile deployment, settings assignment, firmware rollout, or power operation in zMAN generates a Task. Tasks let you monitor execution status and results per device or group :contentReference[oaicite:0]{index=0}.
Viewing Tasks
- In the zMAN UI, click **Tasks** in the main navigation.
- Use filters to narrow by:
- Task type (Profile, Settings, Firmware, Power)
- Status (Pending, In Progress, Success, Failed)
- Time range
- Click any Task entry to see detailed logs, including per-device outcomes and timestamps.
Task Details
- Initiator: user or API call that triggered the Task
- Targets: list of devices or groups included
- Status Summary: counts of successful, failed, and pending devices
- Logs: drill down to individual device events with timestamps and error codes
Troubleshooting Task Failures
- For failures on many devices, check the Task’s common error message and refer to the zTC’s **Device Information → Metrics** for detailed logs.
- If a Task is stuck in “In Progress,” verify that the zDM Server is online and reachable by clicking **Server Configuration → zDM Management**.
- Use the **Retry** button on failed device entries to re-attempt without recreating the Task.
