Proxy

Overview

Proxy settings in zMan Director allow administrators to configure network proxy behavior for managed zTC devices.

Proxy settings can be created as part of a reusable device settings configuration and applied to individual zTC devices or groups of devices.

Proxy Configuration

Proxy settings may be used when managed zTC devices need to access network resources through a proxy server.

Documented proxy options include:

  • Auto
  • Manual
  • Disabled

Available proxy fields may vary depending on the selected proxy mode.

Auto Proxy

Auto proxy configuration allows the device to use automatic proxy behavior when supported by the deployment environment.

This may be used in environments where proxy settings are automatically discovered or centrally provided.

Manual Proxy

Manual proxy configuration allows administrators to define proxy settings directly.

This may be used when devices must connect through a specific proxy server.

Disabled Proxy

Disabled proxy configuration prevents proxy settings from being applied through this configuration.

This may be used in environments where devices connect directly without a proxy server.

Applying Proxy Settings

Proxy settings may be applied to:

  • Individual zTC devices
  • Groups of zTC devices

Administrators should confirm that the proxy settings match the network environment before applying them broadly.

Notes

  • Incorrect proxy settings may interrupt access to required services.
  • Proxy behavior may affect browser access, update access, and other network communication.
  • Proxy settings should be tested on a small group of devices before broader deployment.
  • Available proxy options may vary depending on device firmware and deployment configuration.
